Latest Test on iphone 4

July 13, 2010

After numerous test on three separately purchased units, the iphone 4 fails again. Consumer reports’ engineers tested the iphone’s in a controlled environment (isolation chamber) where no outside radio frequency’s would have an impact on the signal. After touching the little black strip on the side of the phone, the signal strength dropped dramatically. Apple blamed the signal drop on faulty software that displays signal strength bars that aren’t really there but the latest test proves different. Seeing how older versions of the iphone don’t have this issue, one can only believe that putting the antenna on the outside of the phone, where it can come into immediate contact with the user is a major design flaw. Not all hope is lost though. You can purchase one of the new cases (how convenient) designed for the new phones and that will take away the disappearing signal issues. Other test proves that the iphone 4 is the leader in almost all other categories among smart phones. The video camera is said to be the best  seen on a phone yet. As an iphone lover and owner, I already expected some issues with a brand new release as with any other electronic device so I’m not totally disappointed, but I will wait for the next batch of releases before I get my new iphone 4.
